Can you remember a day when you were feeling really down and then met someone who gave you a genuine caring smile and hello? Even if just for a few moments, didn't you feel changed from that smile? Connecting to caring starts with the simplest of acts like a smile or hello. Then when we find how really good we feel as we give to others, the momentum builds. It feels so good that It could be claimed to be a selfish motive! But this kind of selfishness will catalyze whole movements that change the lives of thousands or millions. This is the open secret: giving to others gives to yourself even more. Often I get the most inspired by stories of a simple act of kindness that someone did for another, without any other motive except to be kind. I especially love the story of how much a small act can completely steer someone in a positive direction that they may not have gone. Here is a story of a man who paid peoples groceries at random. I am so inspired by this and plan to do my own version. Want to join me?
